ARRL Ham Radio License Manual

ARRL — the American Radio Relay League — has been the national association for amateur radio since 1914. They set the standards, run the licensing infrastructure, publish the official study guides, and coordinate the emergency communications networks that amateur operators use when disasters strike. Getting a Technician license takes one 35-question multiple-choice exam. This book contains the complete current question pool (valid for exams through June 2030), paired with plain-language explanations of the underlying concepts: radio and signal fundamentals, how equipment works, operating procedures, regulations, and electrical safety. Most people pass on their first attempt with this book and ARRL’s free online practice tool. The exam costs about $15 and takes half an hour; once you hold a license, you hold it for ten years.
